8 DAY UGANDA TOUR TO MT ELGON, KIDEPO & MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARKS


ITINERARY


DAY 1- Mt Elgon tour

Depart from Kampala early in the morning and arrive in the afternoon for lunch in Mbale. In the evening visit the four spectacular vast caves where frequent night visitors such as elephants and buffaloes come to lick the natural salt on the cave walls.  Tour the Kitum (200 m) on the side of Mt. Elgon cave with overhanging crystalline walls. Dinner and overnight at Sipi Falls Rest Camp

Day 2- Mountain hiking tour

Visit the highest peak of Mt. Elgon, Koitoboss, (13,852 ft /4,155 m), and easily accessible by hikers in about two hours from the road's end.
Then proceed with vehicle circuits leading to animal viewing areas where several of them including elephants, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and tree squirrel frequent the place. In the evening tour Sipi falls. Dinner and overnight at Sipi Falls Rest Camp

Day 3- Touring Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast transfer to Kidepo Valley national park via Namalu and arrive early enough for your lunch at Apoka Lodge. After lunch, move out for panoramic views of the Narus River Valley as you enjoy wildlife viewing from the verandah of the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge

Day 4-Wildlife Tour – Kidepo valley national park

After breakfast embark on a morning game drive to Kanangorok Hot Spring. A big number of animals can be spotted roaming around including the Ostrich. Drive back to the lodge for your lunch in preparation for an evening Karimajong cultural experience at Karenna and Kapedo. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge

Day 5 – Kidepo valley national park – Kampala

After breakfast take a flight back to Entebbe and proceed to Kampala for your relaxation at Emin Pasha Luxury Lodge as you prepare to drive to Murchison Falls National Park the next day.

Day 6: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast with packed lunch drive through Luwero Triangle and arrive in the afternoon at the top of the Murchison Falls. At this point the beauty of the Nile River is manifested the river forcing through a narrow gap in the rock before ferociously plunging down 43 meters bursting into a spectacular surge. From here we will continue on, taking a ferry across the river by a ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge. Game viewing on the way is highly rewarding; look out for hippos, elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, etc. Overnight at a Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge/Budget Red Chili Camp

Day 7- Murchison Falls national Park tour

After breakfast, transfer to Kaniyo Pabidi Forest for Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest Reserve. This is one the areas in Uganda with the highest chimp population.  Look out for forest birds including the chocolate-backed Kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill and puvel's illadopsis found nowhere else in East Africa.
After trekking the chimps drive back to the lodge for lunch before undertaking an afternoon boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. A boat trip down to the bottom of the falls makes the highlight of any tour to Murchison Falls National Park since it draws you closer to the animals including hippos, buffaloes and crocodiles. If lucky, you may spot the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. Overnight at a Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge/Budget Red Chili Camp

Day 8: End of Uganda Tour

After breakfast drive back to Kampala and arrive in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Emin Pasha Lodge or similar other
